A. What Kind of Stuff is In Connectipedia?
Connectipedia is a shared learning community for anyone interested in advancing the knowledge and efforts of those working for the common good. Connectipedia is made of information contributed by users just like in other wikis, including Wikipedia. But, it is a network of links to resources rather than a repository of articles. It adds another dimension by connecting pieces of information to others, making it a more powerful tool in which information can be stored and accessed in a database. Information is organized and accessed by its connections with other information.
The connectipedia database is organized into four main parts:
Information about subjects (Topics)
Information about foundations and grant-making entities (Foundations)
Information about organizations (Organizations)
Information about human resources and connectipedia users (People)
The above are also connected to:
Information about geographic entities (Places)
Information about funding opportunities (Funding Opportunities)
What makes this site really useful is the ability to locate information about people + places + topics.
