Childhood Hunger Initiative
Childhood Hunger Initiative+description
from (pdf): http://www.governor.oregon.gov/Gov/pdf/letters/children_hunger_initiative.pdf
The Childhood Hunger Initiative is a group of health care professionals, anti-hunger advocates and
other interested Oregonians, working together to educate the medical community, policy makers, and the
general public about the medical, developmental and psycho-social impacts of childhood food insecurity and
hunger. We believe that childhood hunger must be understood as a public health issue, not simply a social
issue.
The Childhood Hunger Initiative (CHI) of Oregon, in partnership with OSU Extended Campus, has developed a free online and paper-based course with optional continuing medical education credits, Childhood Food Insecurity: Health Impacts, Screening, and Intervention.
