Connectipedia Rules of Engagement
- To become a connec+ipedian, we ask you to abide by these rules:
- use your real name
- be a responsible and respectful member of our community
- practice basic common sense "netiquette"
- don't contribute any all-rights-reserved copyrighted material (linking to copyrighted material is okay)
- agree that any content you enter be available under the two licenses we've chosen (see #7 below)
- acknowledge that if you violate these expectations, your content will be removed and you will be blocked from further particiation
- connec+ipedia uses Wagn, free/open source software using open standards.
- Hence, connec+ipedia works best in Firefox, and we suggest using that web browser. Download Firefox now, here.
- Meyer Memorial Trust is mostly not in the business of doing research or compiling data. We're in the business of figuring out who is in that business and learning how to learn from their work.
- Hence, most connec+ipedia content will consist of annotated links to other resources.
- Sources ALWAYS should be cited.
Unless otherwise indicated, material in connec+ipedia is copyright © 2008, respective contributors, and made available under two licenses, which grant freedoms similar to those of free/open software; this principle is known as copyleft. The two licenses are:
- The Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 United States. Follow that link for the legal language. In plain language, connec+ipedia content can be copied, modified, and redistributed so long as:
- attribution is given to connec+ipedia as the origin of the content (e.g. via a direct link back to http://connectipedia.org ),
- the use is noncommercial, and
- any copy or modification grants these same freedoms to others.
- The GNU Free Documentation License:
Permission is granted to copy, distribute and/or modify this document under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 or any later version published by the Free Software Foundation; with no Invariant Sections, no Front-Cover Texts, and no Back-Cover Texts. A copy of the license is included in the section entitled "GNU Free Documentation License"
Again, follow the link for the complete legal language. In plain language, this license still requires any copy or modification to grant the same freedoms to others, but does not require attribution, or restrict commercial uses.
