Keeping Free of Jargon
One way foundations can improve relationships with grantees is to eliminate the use of jargon in communications. Tony Proscio has written several essays that offer direct guidance to foundations in reducing/eliminating jargon. "We would like to conduct a social impact study of our members that illustrate the programmatic impact nonprofits have on the community. We have been able to find reports for the economic impact of nonprofits, but not a compilation of their social impact, their program benchmarks, as it were.
