About Us
We are a private foundation built on the philanthropy of John and Elizabeth T. Kinsman of Milwaukie, Oregon. You can read a brief history of the family and the organization here.
The Foundation is an Oregon nonprofit corporation governed by a Board of Directors. Our office is located on property we own in the Oak Grove area of Milwaukie. We employ three office staff and operate much like other small businesses.
Because our founders and donors enjoyed federal and state tax advantages in making contributions to the Foundation, we are closely regulated by the Internal Revenue Service to assure our assets are used for charitable purposes. Our principal business is making Grants in our Areas of Interest to qualified nonprofit organizations.
We invite you to explore our website. As you do, please consider the important work our grantees do. We’re pleased to help them.
