  • About NCNM

NCNM offers three graduate professional degrees in accredited and recognized programs that prepare you for licensed practice in many states and provinces:

    • Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, a four-year program of clinical sciences and holistic methods of healing and disease prevention, instilled with the ancient principle of the healing power of nature.
    • Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, a four-year program that delves deeply into thousands of years of classical Chinese methods of diagnostics and healing, using herbs, acupuncture, bodywork and therapeutic exercise.
    • Master of Acupuncture, this four-year program has a foundation identical to that of the MSOM program without the herb courses. Upper level courses focus in particular on the clinical application of acupuncture and moxibustion techniques.

Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest city of Portland, Oregon, NCNM provides and fosters a challenging, eclectic, and rigorous academic experience. You will be immersed in new ways of thinking about not only medicine and health care, but human beings and the world. You will be on the forefront of natural medicine, both eastern and western, and of integrated medical education, research, and patient care.

    Organization

NCNM is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) Oregon corporation. The college is governed by a board of directors serving three-year terms. The Board of Directors oversees the organization and exercises management through the president. The day-to-day operations of NCNM are performed by the president, staff, faculty and administration.

Students getting involved is the mission of the National College of Natural Medicine Student Association. The Student Association unifies the student body, provides a formal student voice to other constituencies within NCNM, and develops opportunities for social and academic growth. Its committees include Intra-Campus Communications, Social and Professional Development, Sports, Budget, Fundraising, Elections and Constitution. Students who serve on the Administrative Liaison Team are assigned to a specific college department.

  • a nonprofit group asks:

"We would like to conduct a social impact study of our members that  illustrate the programmatic impact nonprofits have on the community. We have been able to find reports for the economic impact of nonprofits, but not a compilation of their social impact, their program benchmarks, as it were. Do you know of any reports or organizations that are doing this kind of work that we could link with or use their survey work?"

Indeed, we have extensive information here:

    Social Impact of Nonprofits
