Oregon Special Libraries Association

Oregon Special Libraries Association+description

Established in 1973, the OR-SLA Chapter currently has approximately 130 members. Its unique team structure creates interesting programs and networking opportunities for its members.

Oregon Chapter members work with information in diverse and creative ways: as librarians, independent brokers, web-designers, solo librarians, or as part of information service teams.

Elected at the annual dinner meeting each October, Chapter Officers serve one or two years, beginning with SLA's annual conference in January of each year.

Our team structure, initiated in 1995, pioneers a new way to organize and carry out the business of the Chapter. Team leaders and members volunteer and/or are appointed by the chapter president.

Our employers range from non-profit organizations, hospitals, colleges, government agencies, museums, law firms, engineering, high-tech, apparel, to advertising and publishing companies.

Read the President's Corner for a review of chapter activities.

The Oregon Chapter supports the SLA mission to promote and strengthen its members through learning, advocacy, and networking initiatives.
