  • Portland YouthBuilders (PYB) is a nonprofit organization that provides educational, vocational, and leadership development programs for low-income men and women aged 17-24. Founded in Portland, Oregon in 1995, PYB is part of a network of over 200 YouthBuild programs around the country. Each year, we serve an average of 200 young people in the greater metropolitan area from our facility in outer Southeast Portland. Please see our Programs page to learn more.

    Portland YouthBuilders' efforts are supported by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the US Department of Labor (DOL), the Corporation for National and Community Service, and other public and private partners and funders. PYB is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools and is a high school diploma-granting organization.

    "We would like to conduct a social impact study of our members that  illustrate the programmatic impact nonprofits have on the community. We have been able to find reports for the economic impact of nonprofits, but not a compilation of their social impact, their program benchmarks, as it were. Do you know of any reports or organizations that are doing this kind of work that we could link with or use their survey work?"
