  • SCRAP (School & Community Reuse Action Project) is a 503(c)(3) non-profit organization that inspires creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing education programs and affordable materials to the community.

We collect clean, reusable creative materials from businesses and individuals.  The SCRAP Reuse Center combines a retail shop offering an ever-changing variety of materials suitable for art, craft and school use with a public workshop room, inspirational ideas and instruction. Every year, SCRAP diverts 50 tons of material from the waste stream. SCRAP’s Education & Outreach Programs provide inspirational art and environmental activities at community outreaches, schools and other public events.

  • a nonprofit group asks:

"We would like to conduct a social impact study of our members that  illustrate the programmatic impact nonprofits have on the community. We have been able to find reports for the economic impact of nonprofits, but not a compilation of their social impact, their program benchmarks, as it were. Do you know of any reports or organizations that are doing this kind of work that we could link with or use their survey work?"

Indeed, we have extensive information here:

    Social Impact of Nonprofits
    Philanthropy and Social Impact
