Founded as a not for profit organization in 2003, the mission of Salem Repertory Theatre is to play a vital role in the cultural life of Salem and the region by:

    • Creating professional theatrical productions of the highest standard.
    • Challenging artists and audiences with plays of depth and vibrancy that illuminate the strengths, frailties and diversity of the human condition.
    • Providing an artistic home for a diverse company of theatre professionals, including a resident acting company.
    • Establishing and maintaining education and outreach programs for all ages consistent with the artistic mission of the theatre.

Now beginning its fifth full season of operation, Salem Repertory Theatre (SRT), the first and only not-for-profit professional theatre company in Oregon’s capital, continues to play to sold-out houses and is fast becoming a noted cultural and educational asset in the Willamette Valley. Housed in the Historic Reed Opera House, SRT has played to over 16,000 audience members in its first four seasons and launched several successful, “no-cost” educational programs for all ages.

  • a nonprofit group asks:

"We would like to conduct a social impact study of our members that  illustrate the programmatic impact nonprofits have on the community. We have been able to find reports for the economic impact of nonprofits, but not a compilation of their social impact, their program benchmarks, as it were. Do you know of any reports or organizations that are doing this kind of work that we could link with or use their survey work?"

Indeed, we have extensive information here:
