Alvin's Guide To Good Business

Starting Saturday February 13, 2010, BBC World News is featuring a new weekly television series by the award-winning production house RockhopperTV that highlights the work of eight senior social entrepreneurs around the globe. Entitled Alvin’s Guide to Good Business, the series follows finance guru Alvin Hall as he visits a different social entrepreneur each week, probing their business model, examining the potential impact of their work and exploring the challenges to scaling their innovation.  Featured organizations include Riders for Health, IDE-India, Marine Stewardship Council, Apopo, Partners in Health, Friends International, Camfed and Kiva.

The series is produced by RockhopperTV in partnership with the Skoll Foundation and was commissioned by BBC World News, the 24-hour commercial news and public affairs channel of the BBC. At last count, BBC World News reaches 292 million homes, 1.7 million hotel rooms, 42 airlines and 35 mobile phone platforms in 200+ countries and territories around the world, making this the Skoll Foundation’s first foray into global commercial television. Episodes will air a minimum of four times each week (timed for primetime in each major market) and will be streamed online in full here during the week of broadcast and beyond.
