Star of Hope is a (501)(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a six member voluntary board of directors comprised of various community leaders within Coos County. Founded over 40 years ago by a group of parents, neighbors and family of young adults with developmental disabilities.
The agency has become far more than just a place to go. On January 1, 2006 Star of Hope further expanded by aquiring The Oregon Connection- House of Myrtlewood in Coos Bay which provides another source of physical integration and vocational training to adults with Developmental Disabilities. While learning woodworking and retail skills our clients are also learning customer relations and safe work practices as well.
