Taproot Foundation
Taproot Foundation+description
Since our inception in 2001, the Taproot Foundation has worked to transform the nascent field of pro bono service into a national platform to leverage top talent in support of our communities' greatest needs. We are pursuing three strategies as we build the field of pro bono service - each designed to ensure that nonprofits have access to the professional services they need to fulfill their missions:
We do pro bono.
Every year our award winning Service Grant program provides millions of dollars worth of pro bono marketing, HR, IT, and strategy management consulting services to nonprofits, helping them tackle our society's toughest challenges.
We enable others to do pro bono.
We work to increase the capacity of the field by enabling others to manage pro bono service programs of their own. We provide consulting to companies like the Gap and Capital One to help them create world-class pro bono consulting programs for their employees at a low cost.
We inspire the pro bono ethic.
We inspire the business community to engage in pro bono service through research, education, and convenings. By 2020, we strive to have all business professionals consider pro bono work an integrated and esteemed part of their careers.
